What does PDF Page Numbers do?
It stamps page numbers onto PDF pages so readers can reference page 3 or page 10, all processed in your browser.
Can I skip the cover page?
Yes. Turn on Skip first page. Page 1 stays blank; numbering starts on page 2 with your Start at value.
What does Start at do?
It sets the number shown on the first page that receives a label. For example, Start at 2 makes the first numbered page display 2.
Can I number only some pages?
Yes. Click thumbnails or type a range. Numbers count sequentially among the pages you include.
What is the difference between 1 / N and Page 1 of N?
Both show progress through the numbered set. N is the total count of pages that receive numbers, not necessarily the PDF page count.
What if a PDF is password-protected?
Encrypted or locked PDFs may fail. Unlock the file first with the PDF Unlock tool, then add page numbers again.
