Review differences
First-page previews appear side by side. The table below highlights fields that differ: green badge if everything matches.
What is Compare PDF?
A browser-side checker for two PDF versions. Compare PDF is part of Easy24’s PDF toolbox. Files are processed locally in your browser for normal use; Easy24 does not upload them to finish the job. On the free plan you get 5 uses per day and files up to about 10 MB. Limits are shown before you download. Typical flow: Add two PDFs (10 MB each). Click Compare to see first-page previews and a metadata table with differences highlighted. Not a visual pixel diff. Free: 5 per day. Related tools and reverse conversions appear on the page when a follow-up step is common.

Questions
Does this compare every pixel?
No. It compares document metadata and shows first-page previews. Two PDFs can look identical in the table but still differ in minor layout shifts elsewhere.
What fields are compared?
Page count, file size, encryption flag, title, author, subject, keywords, creator, producer, creation date, and modification date.
Why do file sizes differ with the same page count?
Different compression, embedded fonts, images, or metadata can change size without changing the visible page count.
Can I compare password-protected PDFs?
Only if pdf-lib can open them locally (owner-locked files often work). Strong user-password files may fail to compare.
Is this good for legal document review?
It is a quick metadata sanity check. For contractual redlines, use a dedicated visual diff or professional review workflow.

When to use Compare PDF
People reach for Compare PDF when a quick job should not require installing desktop software or creating an account. Compare two PDFs side by side in your browser: page count, file size, encryption, and document metadata with first-page previews. Typical jobs include preparing a packet for email, cleaning a scan before printing, or adjusting pages before a deadline, all without sending the document to a third-party inbox. Compared with installing a desktop suite only for compare pdf, a dedicated page keeps the interface small and the intent obvious. Quota cookies may still track anonymous daily free-plan uses. That is different from receiving your file bytes or pasted text. The free plan allows 5 uses per day and files up to about 10 MB; limits appear before download. If a free-plan limit applies, the workspace shows remaining uses before you commit a download, so you are not surprised after a long wait.
