Which conversion method should I use?

Luminance (ITU-R BT.601) weights green most and usually looks natural for photos. Average and lightness offer alternative artistic tones.

Can I keep some color?

Yes. Lower the desaturation slider below 100% to blend color with gray for a muted or cinematic look.

Does grayscale reduce file size?

Not always. PNG may stay similar; JPEG/WebP can be smaller depending on quality settings and image content.
