Which format should I pick?

JPEG or WebP for photos and screenshots. PNG when you need lossless quality or alpha transparency.

Why is my PNG bigger than the original?

PNG is lossless. Detailed photos often compress better as JPEG or WebP.

Is EXIF metadata kept?

No. Canvas export creates a new image without camera EXIF, GPS, or other embedded metadata.

Does resizing help file size?

Yes. Lowering the longest side to 1920 px or 1280 px often saves more than quality alone.
