Questions
Which format should I choose?
PNG or WebP for graphics with transparency. JPEG for photos and smallest shareable files. AVIF when your browser supports it. GIF for simple animations (single frame here). TIFF for archival RGB.
Why did my transparent PNG get a white background?
JPEG cannot store alpha. Pick PNG/WebP or change the background color before converting to JPEG.
Can I convert TIFF files?
Yes. TIFF uploads are decoded in the browser. You can export to PNG, JPEG, or other supported outputs.
Why is the converted file larger?
PNG and TIFF are lossless. Converting a heavily compressed JPEG to PNG often increases size.
Does AVIF work everywhere?
AVIF encoding depends on browser support. If unavailable, the tool hides AVIF or falls back automatically.
