Bionic reading bolds the first part of each word so the eye can jump along the line. It is a visual aid, not a proven speed-reading method.

How it works

1

Paste the text

A paragraph or two is enough. The preview on the right bolds the start of each word.

2

Set the bold ratio

The slider is the share of each word that is bold, from 20% to 60%. Short words still get at least one bold letter.

3

Copy HTML

Copy puts strong tags around the bold part so you can paste into a page or note that accepts HTML.

What is bionic reading?

Bionic reading is a layout trick: the beginning of each word is heavier so the rest can be guessed. Some readers find it easier to skim. This page applies that layout locally. Bionic Reading is a trademark of others; this tool only mimics the visual idea.

Why use this tool

  • Live bionic preview beside the editor
  • Adjustable bold ratio
  • Copy as HTML with strong tags
  • Letters only; numbers stay plain. No daily cap

Questions

What does Bionic Reading do?

It bolds the first part of each word so the eye can skip along the line. Copy exports HTML.

How do I use Bionic Reading?

Paste text, move the ratio slider, read the preview, then copy HTML if you need it elsewhere.

Does it make me read faster?

Evidence is mixed. Treat it as a visual aid. It is not a guaranteed speed-reading method.

What does Copy put on the clipboard?

HTML with strong tags around the bold stems, not the preview styling from this page.

Is my text sent to a server?

No. Bolding runs in this tab.

Is there a daily limit?

No. There is no daily cap on this tool.
