How it works

1

Type the banner text

Enter up to 48 characters. Letters, digits, and common punctuation work in most fonts.

2

Choose font and spacing

Try Standard, Slant, Doom, ANSI Shadow, Star Wars, or another FIGlet face. Spacing can be wide, fitted, or tight.

3

Copy the banner

Use the copy button on the preview. Paste into a README, Discord, or a comment block. Use a monospaced font so the art lines up.

What is an ASCII banner generator?

An ASCII banner generator, often called FIGlet or TAAG, draws words with rows of characters such as #, \, and _. Developers use it in READMEs, terminal greetings, and comments. This page runs the conversion locally and lets you switch fonts without uploading text.

Questions

What does ASCII Banner do?

It turns ordinary text into a large banner made of ASCII characters, using FIGlet fonts like the ones on TAAG and similar generators.

How do I use ASCII Banner?

Type your text, pick a font, optionally change spacing, then copy the preview. Keep the pasted result in a monospaced font.

What is FIGlet?

FIGlet is a classic program that builds large letters out of smaller ASCII characters. This page uses the same font format in the browser.

Which fonts are included?

A curated set of popular FIGlet faces: Standard, Big, Slant, Small, Mini, Doom, Banner, Block, Digital, Graffiti, ANSI Shadow, Star Wars, 3D-ASCII, Isometric1, Colossal, Roman, Script, Ghost, Larry 3D, Stop, Thick, and DOS Rebel.

Why does the banner look broken after I paste it?

The destination is not using a monospaced font, or it wraps long lines. Paste into a code block or a README fenced with triple backticks.

Is there a length limit?

Input is capped at 48 characters so very wide fonts stay usable. Longer lines wrap at about 120 columns.

Is my text sent to a server?

No. Fonts are bundled in the page. Rendering happens in this tab.

Is there a daily limit?

No. There is no daily cap on this tool.
