What is epoch time?
Epoch time, Unix time, and Unix timestamp are the same idea: seconds since the Unix epoch (1 Jan 1970 UTC). APIs, logs, and databases often store this number. An epoch converter maps it to a human date, and the other way, from a calendar date back to Unix seconds.
Why use this tool

Questions
What is a Unix timestamp (epoch)?
A Unix timestamp, also called epoch time, is the number of seconds since 1 January 1970 00:00:00 UTC. This epoch converter turns that number into a calendar date and back.
Seconds or milliseconds?
A 10-digit value is Unix seconds. A 13-digit value is milliseconds. This converter detects both.
Which timezone is used?
Local date and time use your browser timezone. UTC and ISO 8601 are timezone-independent.
What happens on 19 January 2038?
32-bit systems that store time as a signed 32-bit Unix second overflow at 03:14:07 UTC that day. This tool uses JavaScript Date (64-bit milliseconds), so dates after 2038 still convert here.
Do I need an account?
No. Open the epoch converter and use it. There is no daily cap on this tool.
