How it works

1

Encode an image

Drop a PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP, SVG, or other image up to 5 MB. Choose Plain Base64, Data URI, HTML, CSS, or Markdown output.

2

Preview and copy

The right panel shows a live preview with MIME type, byte size, and pixel dimensions. Copy or download the text snippet.

3

Decode Base64

Paste a data URI or raw Base64 to preview. Download restores the image file in your browser.

What is Image ⇄ Base64?

Embedding images as data URIs avoids extra HTTP requests for small icons and inline graphics. This page builds those strings locally, shows a live preview, and can decode Base64 back to a file — Easy24 does not receive what you drop or paste.

Why use this tool

  • Image → Base64 / data URI in the browser
  • Live image preview with dimensions
  • HTML img, CSS background, Markdown snippets
  • URL-safe Base64 and MIME line wrap
  • Paste Base64 or data URI to decode
  • Free plan: 8 uses per day, 5 MB max

Questions

What does Image ⇄ Base64 do?

It encodes images as Base64 or data URLs for HTML/CSS/Markdown, and can decode those strings back into a downloadable image — all in your browser.

Which image types work?

Any format your browser can read as image/* — typically PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP, AVIF, and SVG.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Encoding and decoding run in this tab. Easy24 never receives the file.

Is there a daily limit?

Yes. The free plan allows 8 encode/download uses per day, with files up to 5 MB. The counter sits above the workspace.

Do I need an account?

No. Open the tool and use it. An account is only for Pro later.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. It runs in the mobile browser. Keep the tab open for larger images.

When should I use File ⇄ Base64 instead?

Use File ⇄ Base64 for non-image files (PDF, ZIP, etc.). This tool is focused on images with preview and image-oriented snippets.
